The glorious gardens of the Simsbury Historical Society will serve as the stunning setting for the Simsbury Chamber of Commerce Public Art Trail Garden Party fundraiser in support of Simsbury's first ever town-wide sculpture exhibit. The outdoor gala will take place on Friday, June 22nd from 5 to 8 p.m., rain or shine, and is sponsored by Alliances By Alisa Media Relations.
Guests can explore the award-winning gardens featuring perennials, herbs, irises and nearly twenty varieties of roses. Attendees will enjoy champagne, beer, wine, specialty cocktails and hors d'oeuvres accompanied by light jazz entertainment.
Tickets to the Garden Party are only $50, but the Simsbury Chamber of Commerce is offering a specially-priced "Patron of the Arts" package. For only $99, patrons can attend all three of the Simsbury Art Trail special events. They will receive one ticket to the Opening Champagne Breakfast, the Garden Party, and the Closing Ceremony Cocktail Reception.
The Champagne Breakfast will take place on May 18th and the Closing Ceremony will take place on September 15th. These, in addition to the Garden Party, will prove to be memorable events and will greatly benefit Life in Simsbury: A Public Art Trail.
"The Garden Party will certainly be a magical evening and a celebration of the group's accomplishment to bring the Art Trail to our town," said Lisa Gray, Executive Director of the Simsbury Chamber of Commerce. "We will toast the contributions of everyone who has made the event possible."
The Simsbury Historical Society is located at 800 Hopmeadow Street and will also be displaying five Art Trail sculptures.

ABOUT SEWARD JOHNSON
One of America's most beloved sculptors, Seward Johnson, recreates life in our times in vividly realistic bronze. Now in his 80's, Johnson has been sculpting life-like figures for over 45 years, many of which are placed nestled into the landscapes of public parks and private estates. His sense of humor, and his affection for people, is evident in all of his works from the little girls reluctantly sharing an ice-cream cone, to the gentle assistance of a father teaching his son to fish. Artist Johnson captures moments for us. He holds up a mirror for our reflection, and it is ultimately, one that will make us smile at ourselves. His works can be found at sewardjohnsonatelier.org For further information about the event, visit the event website at www.SimsburyArtTrail.com.
